Object Description
This extremely rare sterling silver hand held miniature painters palette was made in London in 1911 by John Collard Vickery and measures 2 inches in dia, it has a hinged ring to the underside that fits onto your finger or thumb whilst you use it. It is matte gilded and fully hallmarked to the base and is also marked inside the lid with the registration mark of RdNo430343, the makers mark, date letter and lion passant and also on the ring with the lion passant. It contains 8 water colours and a small pencil, it is a very collectable and sought after item as few have survived and they are mostly on chains for around the neck.
