Fabergé-style gold, diamond, and rock crystal model of strawberries

This exquisite Fabergé-style model depicts a blooming strawberry plant. From the textured gold stem extend five ripening strawberries, that are cast in pastel pink rhodonite and carefully etched to mimic the texture of the fruit. The stunning pink colour is contrasted by the pair of nephrite leaves, which are a deep shade of green and are etched with veining to add to the trompe l’oeil effect of the piece. The model is surmounted by a single opal blossom, with nephrite leaves peeking from behind and inset with a diamond stigma.
The plant is set within a clear glass vase, crafted to give the impression of being filled with water.
The model is crafted in the manner of the renowned Russian jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé (1846 -1920), and the small size of this particular model replicates the sizes of the original designs.
Bringing together a host of precious materials in an ingenious design, this delicate work is a true objet d’art.
