A very good quality and well-designed mahogany centre – sofa table with a later inset slate top circa 1840.
This wonderful table has great proportions and design as well as being finished to all side enables it to stand freely within the room.
The rectangular top having a later old inset bevelled edge polished slate with a mahogany border and moulded edge. Having carvings to each corner the top is raised by shaped supports having a decorative applied fretwork, carvings and central patrea united by a ring turned carved stretcher.
Having been restored using traditional methods this 19th Century table is offered in excellent condition.
The colour of this antique table is stunning, coupled with the extremely good quality timber and the contrasting black slate top makes this a very attractive centre – sofa table.
