Object Description
This beautifully engraved Victorian silver oblong snuff box was made in Birmingham in 1849 by Edward Smith and measures 3 3/8 inches in length by 1 25 inches wide and is 0.75 inches deep, it is engraved all over with scrolling acanthus leaves and has a shaped and vacant cartouche to the hinged lid, it has it’s original gilding to the interior and is fully and clearly hallmarked to the base and lid, a very nice quality box in excellent condition weighing 2.25 ounces or 70 grams.
