Object Description
This fine quality pear shaped George II silver sugar vase/caddy was made in London in 1738 by James Delas and measures almost 6 inches tall by approx 3.5 inches across the body and is 3 inches in dia across the top and base. It has central double cipher initials of MM to one side, a pull off lid that is stepped below a baluster finial otherwise it is totally plain, it is fully hallmarked under the base and to the lid rim with the lion passant, a fine piece of silver of good gauge in excellent condition weighing 12.9 ounces or 401 grams.
