Object Description
A fine quality early 19th century (circa 1810) Regency mahogany sofa table.
This table consists of a finely figured mahogany top with coromandel banding and ebony stringing to the edge with drop leaves to either end.
This leads down to two drawers each with inlaid ebony decoration and coromandel banding with two brass knob handles to each drawer with further ebony inlay to the outer side of the drawers, the same design replicated to the back of the table with two dummy drawers.
The table is supported by mahogany leg supports with inlaid ebony decoration leading down to a mahogany and ebony reeded collar, the supports joined by a turned mahogany stretcher leading down to elegant tapered splay legs with ebony inlay terminating with original brass castors.
This table is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
