Object Description
A fine quality pair of late 19th century (circa 1890) French bronze figures of ‘Cupid’ and ‘Psyche’ on gilt bronze bases.
This pair of bronzes consist of the winged young male, Cupid, wearing a headband and drapery, he is holding a quiver with arrows and rests against a tree trunk with roses to symbolise love, all on naturalistic ground and supported on a circular gilt bronze base.
The female figure, Psyche, with draped fabric to protect her modesty, resting against a tree trunk of vines and grapes with basket of grapes on a naturalistic ground supported on a circular gilt bronze base.
This pair of bronzes are in very good original condition for age, are of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
