Object Description
Fine and Rare 18th century George 3rd burr oak veneered bureau of a good size and super colour. Solid oak sides with burr oak veneered drawers, flap and top. The bureau has four long drawers, the fronts have an inlaid boxwood line and swan neck brass handles. The drawers are all pine lined with original steel locks, the swan neck handles are later replacements but they are in the original holes. The bureau flap has a matching boxwood line inlay. The bureau stands on its original nice shape bracket feet.
The interior of the bureau has drawers and pigeon holes and is also veneered in burr oak.
The bureau is a good size and is in very good condition. It is a lovely colour with good original patination and a waxed finish. This is the first burr oak bureau I have seen for some time.
