Object Description
This exceptional burgundy tooled leather cased parcel gilt Victorian silver christening mug was made in London in 1884 by John S Hunt and measures 3.5 inches tall by 2.5 inches in dia across the top and 2.75 inches in dia across the base, it is engraved aesthetically with fronds, 2 birds, belle flowers, flower heads and leaves and has a C shaped handle to one side and is gilded to the interior and is fully and clearly hallmarked to the side and underneath it is stamped Goldsmiths Alliance Limited Cornhill London and the number 2002, it sits in its original case that is satin and velvet lined and is in what appears to be unused condition weighing 5.55 ounces or 171 grams.
