Object Description

A fine small 18th century Louis XV/Transitional period vitrine or library standing on four short cabriole legs with gilt bronze Louis XV sabots and a shaped apron with gilt bronze mount. Straight rectangular shape with canted corners and two partially glazed doors, the lower part showing a rhombus pattern marquetry opening to reveal three shelves. Above the doors a frieze zone showing the same rhombus pattern marquetry, followed by a pagoda shaped veneered top surrounded by a gilt bronze mount in shape of a lambrequin frieze.

The sides displaying a fine veneer. Marquetry and veneer of high craftsmanship.

A beautifully executed vitrine of petite proportions that may serve as a display cabinet or library.
