Object Description
A fine walnut veneered secretaire à Abattant, with a Gris-St-Anne marble top above a frieze drawer and a fall front, enclosing a green leather-lined writing surface, a shelf and five small drawers, above a pair of cupboard doors, the interior of which is fitted with a single shelf. The exterior veneered in finely figured and quartered walnut set so that the grain runs continuously over the whole front . The front flanked by pilasters with gilt-bronze mounts depicting caryatides a’ la Gre’cque which enlivens the severe outline. The sides of the secretaire are plainly veneered. The secretaire stands on square feet.
