Object Description
Late 19th century Louis XVI style eight light crystal cut and gilt-bronze chandelier, its style and its high quality idicating an attribution to the famous French manufactory Maison Baguès. This eight-light chandelier features an elegant and detailed bronze frame hang with heavy high quality cut crystals in the shape of pendeloques, rosettes and faceted drops. The central shaft constructed by glass elements with vase and baluster shapes issuing on the lower end eight candle arms partly hang with purple Murano glass drops. At half height a balustrade like composition gives this chandelier its own special architecture. The whole surmounted by spray adornment draped with facetted crystals.
