Object Description
Circa 1840. A Louis Philippe I (of France) kingwood parquetry brass-mounted book trough, the two sloping tops with stylish geometric patterns topped with brass beading, the shaped gables with floral marquetry on the outside and geometric on the inside, all on a solid oak carcass with a shaped frieze, resting on four elegant cabriole legs with foliate cast brass sabots, the trough is clean, sturdy and functional.
