Object Description

Constructed in mahogany, rising from fluted and tapered cylindrical legs, with acanthus fire gilt bronze sabots, the apron having a centre drawer, with running entre lac foliate bands, the radiused corners containing a parquetry top, with a bronze trim. Signed to the base by the maker.

Object Literature

Fernand Kohl, situated at 55 Rue Traversiere, exhibited and obtained a bronze medal in the Paris Exhibition Universelle, in 1889, and is recorded in Denise LeDoux-LeBard’s ‘Dictionnaire des Ebenistes et Menuisiers de le XIXth Siecle’ published by Editions de l’Amateur, in 1989.
