French Miniature Mantel Clock

Miniature French mantel clock housed in a patinated bronze arch top case with beautifully cast ormolu mounts depicting a maiden at her easel and classical urn decoration. Lions head applied ormolu mounts to the sides of the case, chased gilded bezel with convex glass.
Enamel dial with Roman numerals and original ‘blued’ steel ‘Moonpoise’ hands.
Hinged back door opening to the French eight day timepiece movement with platform escapement. C.1820

Object Condition

very good condition, the clock movement has been completely stripped down and overhauled and is in full working order
