Candelabra: Height 62cm, width 27cm, depth 20cm
This beautiful three-piece clock set, featuring a mantel clock and a pair of candelabra, is designed in the Neoclassical style, and is crafted from white marble and bronze—the bronze both gilt and patinated.
The mantel clock features a white marble case profusely mounted with gilt bronze: the central circular enamel dial is encompassed by a classicising gilt bronze frame moulded with floral motifs and brackets, while the remainder of the case features moulded gilt bronze frames containing pierced Neoclassical style motifs. The clock case is surmounted by two reclining putti, both in patinated bronze. The putti are deftly formed and superbly finished.
The candelabra are similarly formed, each with a white marble base and a stem modelled as a putto in patinated bronze. Each candelabrum issues six gilt bronze branches, each branch ornately scrolled and moulded with foliate detailing.
