Object Description
A quality French silver gilded bronze and crystal 6 light antique chandelier by H.Vian, the six square gauge scrolling arms with leaf bobeche drip pans and bulbous candle sconces, issuing from an open cage interior with large prismatic spike and scrolling leaf canopy, decorated overall with French Slab clear and lightly smoked crystal faceted pendants, having the original chain and ceiling rose, excellent original silver gilded patination and from a great maker. Fully rewired and PAT tested. All our chandeliers come with bulbs and ceiling fixings.———Note: Henri Vian (1860–1905) was a renowned French bronze maker and foundryman, specializing in furniture bronzes, ornamental vases and lighting. His craftsmanship gained recognition at major Universal Exhibitions in 1878, 1889, and 1900, earning him a gold medal in 1889. Vian’s workshop whish was located at 5 rue de Thorigny in Paris (now the Picasso Museum), became a centre for exceptional decorative arts.
