Object Description
A very handsome 1830s drop dial wall clock with a curved base, the case veneered in highly figured rosewood.
The 12-inch convex iron dial has an octagonal surround, with a heavy cast brass bezel fitted with convex glass.
It is signed for A.G. Benton, 122 High Road, Putney.
The eight-day twin fusee movement has shaped plates and knopped pillars. It is fully overhauled and guaranteed for 3 years.
A very well-fitting locking base door gives access to the pendulum. The side access door retains a previous repair sticker from Camerer Cuss, the repairs dating from both 1955 and 1964.
