Object Description
A Garrards fire opal and diamond drop earrings and negligee pendant set. The earrings have old European-cut diamond tops, in rub over settings, with four articulating, graduating rows of old European and rose-cut diamond set foliate motifs, in grain and rub over settings, with faceted oval fire opal and old-cut diamond cluster drops, in grain settings with a rub over edge, with millegrain edged decoration, mounted in platinum, with gold posts and later white gold butterfly fittings.
The negligée pendant, has a rose-cut diamond set pointed ellipse, with millegrain edges, begirding the chain ends. The pendant chains are set with rub over set rose-cut diamonds, with fittings for the fire opal clusters, on a very fine platinum trace chain, with a jump ring and gold bolt ring clasp, marked with a French head of Murcury for exported 18ct gold, circa 1920. In original fitted Garrards case.
The fittings are marked l and ll on the earrings, pendant and the stone set cluster so that each part fits together correctly.
