A hand decorated silver seal over central column of rock crystal. The details feature a coronet with three rams below graduated chevrons on three sides to base of seal and finished with trifoliate leaves. The cuff of the seal has repeated and overlapping circular shields.
This piece was imported from the Netherlands and came from a reputable collector. The seal was made for the Austrian Order of the Golden Fleece which is similar to our knighthoods. It used to be a universal fellowship, but only exists in Austria now as I understand it. Made in circa 1900, it was manufactured by the noted Viennese silversmith Georg Adam Scheid, (1838-1921)
