Object Description
A stunning and scarce iconic early Art Deco Hancock & Sons Morrisware hand painted art pottery vase with flowering carnations by George Cartlidge dating between 1918 and 1926. This stylish flask shaped vase stands on a narrow rounded base with a wide squat rounded body with a graduating narrowing neck with a small open rounded top. The vase is hand painted with flowering carnation stems applied in a tubelined fashion up the body of the vase and painted in purple and yellows on a mottled blue ground. The vase has printed makers marks to the base along with a George Cartlidge facsimile signature.
