Object Description
A fabulously Irish walnut open armchair from the middle of the 18th century. The shaped and carved crest rail sits above a shaped open fret solid walnut back-splat, terminating at a shaped shoe behind the drop-in seat, which is covered in a contemporary style needlework. Cabriole legs, out-swept scrolling arms and the large proportions of this chair certainly make an impression and the chair would work well in a library, office, behind a desk, etc.
