George II oak dresser

Object Description

Fine Geo II Shropshire oak dresser and shelves.The base having three drawers with original handles,the carved cabriole legs with shaped feet,the frieze carved with hearts and scrolls.The shelves above having a pierced cornice and spice cupboards ,the whole crossbanded in walnut .English Circa 1740.

Object History

The dresser was made in Minsterley,Shropshire and is unique to the area.

Object Condition

Fine colour and patina,there is some old nibbling to the left hand door and some of the bottom frieze is missing,otherwise the dresser is an outstanding model.
