Object Description

An elegant antique silver drinking chalice with a tapering bowl on a spreading base. Beautifully embossed and hand chased decoration of flowers and foliage. Excellent quality and weight. Original bright gilt interior.

Contains 500 ml.
Weight 252 grams, 8.1 troy ounces.
Height 17.4cm. Diameter 9cm (top and foot).
London 1807.
Maker Charles Hollinshed, a known goblet maker.
Sterling silver.

Marks. Stamped underneath with a full set of English silver hallmarks.

Charles Hollinshed, London silversmith, apprenticed to Joh Robins 1797, free 1804. 1st mark (2 sizes) 1807. 2nd mark (2 sizes) 1808. 3rd mark 1812.
