Maker: Peter Podio and Arthur Peterson

Peter Podio and Arthur Peterson entered their 1st mark in partnership together as plateworkers in 1783. They had known each other well for a long time prior to this as Peter had been a witness at Arthur’s marriage to Elizabeth Alsop in 1770 and they were probably brothers in law as Peter married Hannah Alsop at St. James’s, Piccadilly in 1774.

Podio and Peterson were specialist producers of elegant silver in the neo classical design. They continued in partnership until the spring of 1788.
