Object Description
Circa 1770 (with adaptions). A good George III mahogany bedside commode. The top in finely figured mahogany with a shaped ¾ gallery with pierced lifting handles on three sides, each of the raised corners surmounted by a stylish rondel. To the front one full length door which lifts and retracts back into the commode, beneath this a small frieze, and a drawer with cast brass swan neck handle with an elegant pierced back plate. The fore edges of the commode are reeded and it rests on four square legs.
