Object Description
Circa 1790, George III mahogany bureau bookcase. The upper section with Gothic arched glazed astragals with three adjustable mahogany shelves with fluted fronts. Satinwood and ebony stringing to its frieze, beneath a shaped dentil cornice. The base with unusual configuration of three short over three long graduated drawers all with original cast brass loop handles and escutcheons and standing on shaped bracket feet. Fine interior with satinwood inlaid door, fluted decorations and four secret compartments.
