Object Description
180 Early George III antique tea caddy made of an exceptional cut of Cuban flame mahogany with ebony stringing to the lid. The brass handle and escutcheon compliment each other and they display some traces of the original gilding, as do the gilt brass lions paw feet. Do not burnish gilt brass! It is good to see a caddy with a caddy top.
The interior is fitted with three canisters, two for tea and one for sugar. There is also a compartment at the back for caddy spoons.
The lock and key are working, the whole caddy is in good original condition.
