Object Description

A fine and pretty George III Period Brass and Iron Trivet with a ring turned ebonised handle, the circular open fret plate with two hooks and three iron legs with pointed feet. The underside of the plate is stamped with an Orb and Cross device flanked by the number 5 & 2 indicating that this was made by the Brass Founder Kepp at 52 Chandos Street, London.

Ca.1800

Height: 5”, 13 cms. Width: 13”, 33 cms. Depth: 6”, 15.5 cms.

The plate pattern is mirrored in hundreds of semicircular overdoors of the late 18th. and early 19th. centuries.
