Object Description
A very good George III Period Mahogany and inlaid Secretaire Bookcase, the upper part with a Greek Key pattern carved cornice above a Shell Inlaid and chevron banded frieze repeated on the returns, the doors glazed with wave and arch glazing bars surmounted with carved palm leaves, the secretaire drawer with a central chequer band separating the crossbanded veneered twin panels and opening onto a very well detailed inlaid and crossbanded interior of 10 crossbanded amboyna and chequer inlaid small drawers around a central Shell Inlaid and chequer banded door flanked by Satinwood and Harewood inlaid column fronted secret compartments and Harewood inlaid pigeon hole friezes all above three further graduated drawers and the whole raised on shaped bracket feet.
