Object Description
Circa 1825. An exhibition quality George IV flamed Mahogany fold over tea table. The D-shaped top with well figured flame mahogany is hinged, opens to reveal a solid interior with a deeper richer mahogany, the top swivels to reveal a polished drawer beneath. The whole piece rests on an unusual under-carriage with large Lyre shaped uprights, with a wonderful, fluted finial in the centre. All resting on a tapering fluting support, sitting on four hipped saber legs with foliate carving to the knees and the toes, with reeding on the fore-edge. All resting on four cast brass castors. Excellent colour and patination.
