George Jones Majolica Fox and Dog Lidded Jug/Pitcher

Object Description

George Jones Majolica jug/pitcher with lid which features pictorial panels on either side, one depicts a retriever chasing a quail, the other a fox waiting to pounce on a rabbit. Colouration: cobalt blue, turquoise, green, are predominant. English diamond registration mark for the date 27/05/1872. Object Condition

Generally Good. RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack across front of the lid. Stabilised and retouched hairline to rim of jug. Filled chip to foxes left ear and nose, on side of jug. Two filled chips to the lower base rim.
