Object Description

An Extremely Good Quality Late 18th Century, Georgian Mahogany Sideboard,  Of Rare Small Proportions And Bowfronted Form, Having Well Figured Top With Attractive Satinwood Crossbanded Decoration, Over One Central Drawer Flanked By Two Cupboard Doors With Inlaid Panels And Shaped Frieze Below, Raised On Elegant Square Tapered Legs Terminating With Original Spade Feet.

A beautiful 18th century, georgian sideboard, which is the absolute perfect size in terms of being big enough to be extremely functional and practical, whilst at the same time not being overpoweringly long and deep in a room like many which you will find.

Overall it retains a good colour and although the top has various old marks, scuffs and scrapes they are very much consumate with the age of a piece which has spent over 200 years of its life being heavily used. Indeed it’s amazing to think that it is very much as fit for purpose today, as it was the day that it was made. The elegant brass handles are later replacements but very much of the style which would have been in place originally so sit extremely well on the piece.

As with all our items this sideboard has been attended to in our worksops by our highly trained, skilled, traditional antique furniture restorers, before being offered for sale, meaning it has received any work required to ensure it is ready to place straight into the home, including a natural wax polish.
