Object Description

A Good Quality 18th Century, Chippendale Period, Georgian Mahogany Wine Table, Or Lamp Table, Having Well Figured Circular Tilting Top, Retainining Exceptional Colour And Patina, Raised On Turned Central Stem With Wrythen Carved Decoration And Elegant Tripod Legs.

Although of relatively typical form for the 18th century chippendale period, this charming little table boasts quite exceptional colour and patina, as well as a lovely thin top which adds to the overall elegance of the piece.

It also has a most elegant column indeed, with well carved wrythen decoration to the bottom end. Incidentally the term wrythen is used to describe the very specific twisted, turned carving found on antique furniture and is also widely used to describe antique glass decoration.

The perfect size for an absolute host of spaces around the home, it is both beautiful and practical. It would work just as well alongside a sofa or library chair in the living room to place a drinks glass on top of, as it would in the drawing room with a lamp perched atop, or even in the bedroom as a bedside table.

As with all our items this table has been attended to in our worksops by our highly trained, skilled, traditional antique furniture restorers, before being offered for sale, meaning it has received any work required to ensure it is ready to place straight into the home, including a natural wax polish.
