( Tea of course was a precious commodity in the
18th century and tea caddies were used to both
preserve the tea leaves and also to lock it away,
protecting it from wandering hands. This is a lovely
example, constructed from attractive satinwood with
simple but elegant decoration. The overall condition
is good and it comes with a fully functional
lock and key )
