Object Description
An embroidery picture of a basket of flowers. Deep relief raised work depicting leaves, twigs, flowers and grasses in a variety of techniques. The flowers are 3D, raised by about 1.5 inches. Worked in fine silks on dark linen ground, in a variety of stitches. Colours red, yellow, green, pale green, light brown, dark brown, gold, pink, cream and white. Framed in an original mahogany frame with ornate glit slip. Acrylic ‘glass’ cover. Mounting: The work is tacked to a wood stretcher frame. Frame backed with card and sealed with tape. (Dimensions including frame: 30.75ins wide, 26.75ins high). Dimensions exclude the frame and slip.
