A impressive historical very interesting mahogany long case clock,

Signed:
PETER CLARE MANCHESTER
( 1729 – 1799 )

With unusual very fine carving.
Also carved with the coat of arms of:
“ THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY of JOINERS and CEILERS of LONDON “
The same coat of arms is also painted on the moon dial.
Circa: 1760/70

The three train unusual movement also has quarter chiming.
The finely engraved dial with the signature also has a large central seconds hand and the original finely painted moon disk with the coat of arms.
The clock has three weights.

On the famous “ NEWMAN “ chair, used by: the Master of the WORSHIPFUL COMPANY of JOINERS and CEILERS of LONDON in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and made in 1754, you can find the same finely carved coat of arms of:
“ THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY of JOINERS and CEILERS of LONDON “,
which you also find on our clock.

The contents of the GUILD HALL of the JOINERS and CEILERS was sold on auction in circa: 1799.
