Object Description

An Attractive And Good Quality Georgian, 18th Century Mahogany Bow Fronted Corner Cupboard, Having Superbly Figured Solid Doors Retaining Excellent Colour And Patina, With Boxwood Inlaid Decoration.

Corner cupboards, particularly hanging ones, are of course a great solution to a room which is lacking storage and already has full walls. This is of course due to the gact they can be mounted in the corner and add a large amount more functional storage to a space which wouldn’t be in use otherwise. They also of course add real elegance and a slightly different dimension.

This example is typical of the late 18th century, constructed from good quality timber which has an elegant, well figured finish. It also retains good colour and patina.

Overall the condition is good, with a few old marks, scuffs, scatches and dents which are to be expected on a piece of furniture which has been well used of this age and all of these blend in perfectly well with the overall look of the piece. It also comes supplied with working lock and key.

As with all items which we list for sale this georgian corner cupboard has received a natural wax polish by our traditional antique furniture restorers before being advertised for sale.

Circa 1790.

Height 43.5in.
Width 30in. (This measurement is across the front of the cupboard)
Depth 21in. (This measurement is how far along a wall from the corner the cupboard would protrude)
