Object Description

A Very Good Quality Late 18th Century Mahogany Georgian Dressing Table Mirror, With Elegant Shield Shaped Swing Plate, Over Well Figured Bowfronted Base With Three Drawers, Raised On Elegant Original Splayed Feet.

Dressing table mirrors, which can often be referred to as “toilet mirrors”were made from the beginning of the 18th Century onwards.

Designed to sit atop a dressing table, or chest of drawers, in the bedroom or dressing room they are found in a huge variety of sizes, woods, shapes, sizes and qualities.

This is a particularly nice quality one, which boasts great elegance and charm and is constructed from a good quality, well figured cut of mahogany, which has retained good colour and patina.

Although originally designed to sit on top of a dressing table it is of course most versatile and would suit a whole variety of locations around the home.

As is pretty much standard on these items the mirror plate  is replaced, but not brand absolutely brand new and it is therefore very much fit for its original purpose. Overall the item is in very good condition.

As with all the items which we offer for sale it has been naturally wax polished, in our workshops, by our highly skilled furniture restorers, before being offered for sale, ensuring that it is ready for immediate use.
