Object Description

An unusual Georgian mahogany travelling reading stand,the sloped top is adjustable and is supported by two turned pillars above a shaped platform base. Original castors underneath to enable movement. Pull out candle slides either side. Manner of Gillows.
English Circa 1820.

Object History

Formerly at Drayton Manor ,Tamworth ,Staffordshire.The house was pulled down in the late 1920’s.

Object Condition

Fine colour and condition ,a useful piece of furniture.
