Object Description
A Good Quality Late 18th Century Georgian Oak
Miniature, Or Childs, Chest Retaining Exceptional
Colour And Patina Throughout Having Two Short
And Three Long Drawers Raised On Elegant
Bracket Feet With Shaped Apron
(Children’s furniture is of course much rarer than its full
size counterparts. Normally made to the same specifications
but on a much smaller scale specifically for the children of
wealthy families to use. This particular piece is constructed
from attractive Oak which has retained a good warm colour
and patina. Interestingly there is only one lock, and this is to
the very bottom drawer, all of the other keyholes are false
and placed purely for decoration it would seem. It is of
course the perfect size to use as a modern day coffee table
type piece of furniture amongst the other myriad of
practical uses one can think of.)
