Object Description
Circa1920’s. A George II style walnut and crossbanded bachelor’s chest. With a hinged rectangular top, crossbanded edge and elegant but simple fore-edge. To the front, 2 lopers to support the open top, finished with brass axe head drops, a configuration of 4 drawers, graduating from top to bottom, and have elegant swan neck handles with a pierced solid back plate. Beneath the bottom drawer there is further moulding and the whole piece rests on 4 squat chunky bracket feet.
