Object Description

An Extremely Rare Early 19th Century George III Period Burr Yew Wood, Drop Flap, Pembroke Games Table, Having Spectacularly Figured Top With Reversible Central Slide, Enclosing Chess Board And Leather Backgammon Board, Over One Frieze Drawer And False Drawer To Reverse With Replacement Brass Handles, Raised On Elegant Square Tapered Legs With Original Brass Castors.

This beautiful table really is quite spectacular as well as being incredibly functional indeed.

Initially it appears to be a pembroke table, of good, useful size, which has been constructed using decorative, lovely yew wood veneers, which have retained a quite wonderful rich colour and patina.

However it then becomes apparent that actually there is much more than initially meets the eye, with the reversible top which allows for various games both in and out of the table and of course the two flaps.

Its been quite some time since we found one this nice and this flexible and we are certain it will be a marvellous addition to just about any home.

As with all items whcih we offer for sale it has been inspected by our highly skilled, trained antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish before being presented for sale.

Height 29.5in.
