Object Description
This early 18th century oval pressed horn tobacco box was made C1715 by Samuel Lambelet (a contemporary of John Obrisset) and measures 4 inches in length by 3 1/8 inches wide and is 1 3/8 inches deep, it has a silver rim around the pull off lid which has an outdoor tavern scene in relief of 3 men at a table drinking and smoking there is a maid on the left with a jug in hand and a man on the right who is relieving himself against a tree, it is signed SL below the foot of the seated man and is in very good condition.
