Object Description
This very nice Provincial Charles II silver lace back trefid spoon was made in Exeter C1684 by John Mortimer and measures 7.75 inches in length, it bears the pin pricked initials of WE over SB and the date 1684 and the Exeter town mark struck thrice – these marks being very clear, it has lacing to the back of the bowl either side of the rat tail and also to the front of the stem at the top, the bowl is well formed and it is in good condition weighing 1.40 ounces or 42 grams.
