Object Description
This good quality oblong Georgian silver box was made in London in 1825 by John Jones and measures 3 9/16 inches in length by 1.25 inches wide and is 1 inch tall, it has an embossed scene to the hinged lid of a pointer standing beneath trees looking at some birds under another tree, the sides and base are engine turned with the base having a small area of wear where it sits, it has a cast floral thumb piece and is gilded to the interior where it is fully hallmarked in the base and also to the lid with makers mark, lion passant and date letter. It shuts well with a click and is in very good condition weighing 2.65 ounces or 83 grams.
