Object Description
This very nice quality William III Britannia silver porringer was made in London in 1698 by William Andrews and measures 3 3/8 inches tall by 6.25 inches handle to handle and is 4 1/8 inches in dia across the bowl, it is spirally fluted to the bottom third and has a rope band towards the top and it is typically engraved with bands of leaves and petal edging and has a cast handle either side that is scrolled and has graduated beading running down, the engraving is particularly sharp and it has pin prick engraving to the top edge of C over MM. It is fully and clearly hallmarked to the side and is in very good condition and weighs 5.65 ounces or 176 grams.
