Object Description
Circa 1870, impressive Gothic style, Victorian mahogany open library bookcase in four sections. The architectural cornice surmounted by pierced circular mouldings interspersed by protruding gothic trefoil decorations over a rounded frieze with repeat gothic carvings. The bookcase with canted edges has four adjustable shelves with fluted mahogany fronts in each of the four upper open sections. The base with a canted moulding to its top has a gothic decorated frieze over four cupboard doors, each with applied central carvings, all on an enclosed plinth base. The top and base sections split in two.
