Object Description

A magnificent ancient Greek, core-formed, blue glass alabastron with a tapering capsule-shaped body. The item is made from opaque deep blue glass, decorated with a cream white circumferential trail, spiralling anti-clockwise from the base. The alabastron presents a short cylindrical neck and everted rim and a set of curved handles applied on the main body, one slightly more raised than the other. The surface is covered with beautiful iridescence .

Date: Circa 6th-5th century BC

Object Condition

Excellent condition, some iridescence on its surface. Stable hairline cracks to the body.
