Object Description
A fine, ancient Greek, terracotta vessel shaped like a pomegranate. The piece features a large globular body with a flattened base and a small mouth at the top shaped like an open calyx of the fruit. The opening distinguishes the vase from the votive model fruits, common at the time, where the corolla is closed and the fruit meant to be suspended from a perforated stem.
